Jessie Meanwell (a.k.a. mer0m0rph) is an artist who creates at the intersection of math and art. She uses the Desmos graphing calculator as her medium, transforming mathematical functions into dynamic visuals and animations.

We collaborated to create a series of portraits where she became the canvas to receive projections of her compositions. As the vibrant patterns envelop her body, the digital melds with the organic and is given a breath of life, while she in return surrenders part of her humanity. The resulting portraits depict symbionts born of the fusion of human form and algorithm, with identities ranging from soothing and enigmatic, to violent and explosive.
