Sultan tit (Melanochlora sultanea)
The Sultan tit is a striking forest bird found across South and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, where it inhabits evergreen forests, bamboo groves, and wooded mountain areas. It is the largest member of the tit family and is easily recognized by its bright yellow crest, black plumage, and bold white markings on the wings and tail. Often moving through the canopy in small groups, it feeds mainly on insects and other small invertebrates, while occasionally consuming fruits and seeds. Its vibrant appearance and energetic behavior make it one of the most distinctive birds of Asia’s forests.
Mésange sultane (Melanochlora sultanea)
La mésange sultane est un oiseau forestier remarquable présent en Asie du Sud et du Sud-Est, notamment au Vietnam, où elle fréquente les forêts sempervirentes, les bambouseraies et les régions montagneuses boisées. Elle est la plus grande espèce de la famille des mésanges et se reconnaît facilement à sa huppe jaune éclatante, son plumage noir et ses marques blanches contrastantes sur les ailes et la queue. Se déplaçant souvent en petits groupes dans la canopée, elle se nourrit principalement d’insectes et de petits invertébrés, tout en consommant parfois des fruits et des graines. Par son apparence colorée et son comportement énergique, elle demeure l’un des oiseaux les plus distinctifs des forêts d’Asie.
